Must be the summer holidays ....

We've had a busy few weeks since our last entry in the blog, with lots of visitors, visits and a start on getting a boggy bramble patch under control. Sue (Walsby) came over for a couple of days as part of her tour of the West, before her hoped-for departure to Africa in the Autumn, delayed from last year; she and Barney plan to drive from the UK: http://turnleftatcairo.weebly.com/index.html.

Jen and Sue had a sweaty walk over the Garn to town as the humidity and midges rise in Llanwrtyd. A few days later Mike and Maureen joined us for sunshine and dinner in the garden, a rare treat. We had a surprise visitor in the vegetable garden, Paul made a start on the most brambley bit of the garden and Jen had a go at some garden artistry.

Sam, Shashi, Varani and Ramana dropped in at the weekend; Sam's shorts were too much temptation for the midge population and he now looks as though he has measles too. We ended July with a sanding session in Llanwrtyd Wells Memorical Garden, getting the railings ready for a new coat of a paint.

Vince, Caroline, Megan and Ben were our first August visitors. Megan set to work inspecting the pond and we made sure that Vince didn't relax for too long.
There was chipping to be done before the on-loan chipper had to return to Dave and Kati along with all of us and many other friends from Notts, for a weekend of barn covering, camping, beer, lamb and damp beaches. Many thanks to Dave and Kati for hosting another fantastic weekend.

We got back from Llanrhystud to an unfamiliar mewing in the garden and found a lost kitten hoping for a slap-up dinner. As yet we've not found her owners, so if Morty doesn't send her packing we may soon be a 2 cat home.

Julie and Isla helped us keep the two cats apart as they spent a few days with us on their whirlwind visit from Australia. Isla decided our inflatable chair would make a good bouncy castle substitute, after checking all corners of the house, garden and surrounding fields for horses, frogs and dragons. A little pear cider was needed to relax after such a busy day (just grapes for Isla).
