Canals, chips and chariots

Wow, it's been a long time since we added to the blog, the time has been flying by this "summer". Okay its been a heat wave for you in the SE but we've been grateful for a couple of dry sunny days in the far west.

The rain mainly held off for our lovely family canal trip near Stratford to celebrate Mike and Maureen's 25th Wedding Anniversary, and no one fell in!!
 
 
 
 
 
 
The week after saw an Eastwoods invasion in Wales, so Paul and Jen were camping to fit all the family into the house. We got our own back by walking everyone over the Garn, only egged on by the promise of chips and a pint in Llanwrtyd at the end of it, and it was all true...

On Friday night Paul was back on a Mountain Bike Chariot with Tony Bain, taking last year's major to the remaining sulphur well to kick off the World Alternative Games with some traditional water, followed by Llandovery Male Voice Choir and later some drum and base (us old farts were tucked up by then).

On Sunday it was Jen's turn to cycle a chariot in one of the local teams for the chariot race, beating TVs Mike Bushell around the course, but not quite fast enough for the final (probably a blessing), here's why:
