Midsummer Madness

We joined Andrea, Pete and Deborah for sunny camping, wet walks and chilly swims in the Lake District, spending Midsummer night at Black Sail Youth Hostel (we still think we're youths even if we don't look the part). Stonethwaite provided a waterfall massage after a battle against the current and a beautiful floating pool.

 ...but definitely worth it.

Jen and Andrea braved a bracing early morning dip before we headed back to Grasmere and the sun.

Before our adventures in the hills we had a relaxing weekend in Kendle with the Stanleys, eating good food and swinging in the woods!!

 

The next couple of days were spent making chicken wire horns, furry legs and sparkly wings for John and Bernie's Midsummer party. An excellent evening was had by all (including the midges) despite the rain, with a guest appearance on stage from Lindsey's Shirt and some wild dancing on a muddy lawn.
