Most of September went by in a blur of drizzle until we too had that amazing week of sunshine. Our few tomatoes have gone red and we even have a few peppers developing in the greenhouse.
The good weather brought some lovely sun rises
In early September, we had a short holiday with friends in Herefordshire; some good walks, lots of great food and a trip to a local Cider farm, it'd be rude not to.

Crossing the Wye
   A friendly local

An essential refreshment break

We made it back to our cottage just as it got dark, the biscuits ran out and the heavens opened.

At our second stop in Whitchurch we found a laid back pub-come-gallery run by an arty hippy, we'd recommend a visit if you're ever near Ross-on-Wye.

A little taster
On our way home we stopped in at Tretower castle ruin and priory, well worth a visit.

Ann, Jen's Mum, came to visit for a week and enjoyed a few walks and a bit of gardening between showers. Nefertiti was glad of an extra lap to sit on. Visitors are a great excuse for some touristy visits and we took a trip to the Llandovery Sheep Festival, with good craft stalls, lots of lamb burgers, sheep dog trials and some excellent shop sheep signs...

Jen and Ann dropped in on the local Eisteddfod to hear the school choirs, lovely.
