The puy lentil harvest has been a bit disappointing. Half the pods had already dropped their contents and some were just flowering ready to pod and as there are only a few pods on each plant, and only two lentils per pod, it doesn't look as though we'll be getting a large meal out of the remainder!
We fared a bit better with damsons, in fact we only noticed yesterday that there was a crop at all and managed to fill our new mini basket with enough for a few pots of preserves. This wonky basket is Jen's first attempt at willow weaving. It only took 3 hours to make something 10cm high!!
Hi Jen & Paul
ReplyDeleteThought it was about time to catch up with your escapades - looks like it is going well? Was about to ask if you still had a computer, what with all your crafts and green-fingered activities, but you must have to do this blog - or do you get some one to do that for you now that you're out in 'the country'...you know, write stuff down and send a pack of letters and photos by mule train to the big city...8o)
Nice looking cat addition too. As I can't send you holiday pics at work any more, you could have a look here henni.smugmug.com for recent trip to Thailand/Malaysia, plus there's a selection of cats old and new too!
Cheers,
Paul (and Lynn)
