The B&B is doing well and Jen is working 2 days a week at Ashfield Community Enterprise - a big veg garden near Llandrindod.
Since June there have been a lot of daft events in Llanwrtyd and we've had a few trips, so here are some highlights....
June - Man versus Horse (marshalling not running this year) with lots of free peanut butter from the sponsors - Paul was very happy
Paul went to Finland with the Natural Mid Wales group to find out about their approach to wildlife tourism (pretty much based around fish and sauna).
Then we discovered the lovely Cors y Llyn - thanks to Richard Knight - and had a wander along the board walks with Pauline and Clive
the Wrens nesting at the bottom of our garden fledged late
It was Llanwrtyd in Bloom at the end of June and included many of the town's beautiful gardens and vegetable plots. Doug Lloyd was the well deserving and rather shy winner of the best garden overall. Prize presented by the Gardening Club Chairman..
Our garden went bonkers with all the sunshine after rain
July - we were pleased to have Ivan and June to visit, who came with lots of news.
The Mural was sandblasted off the toilet walls as the basecoat was peeling - we have since repainted and it has been redrawn ready for the colours, all we need now is a few dry days....!!
We took a mini camping holiday in Pembrokeshire, taking in Tenby, Bosherston, Stackpole and Carew Castle.
AUGUST saw the start of the 2nd World Alternative Games and Warwick Davies and family came to try out some events.
It was also the Green Events Cider Cycle, June D and I were stationed in the sun above Cwm Henog cheering on and directing cyclists back to town.
Builth Male Voice Choir serenaded the first night of the Games and then followed 2 weeks of mad events finishing with the Bog Weekender, which Paul and I were helping to organise... Bog Triathlon, MTB Bog Challenge, Bog Snorkelling, Bog Dredging, MTB Chariot Race, Stone Skimming, Ditch Running and some lovely cider from Welsh Mountain with elderflower.
After all that we took some RnR in Pembrokeshire with Steve, Anne, Katie, Lucus, Olive and Ray at St Ishmaels. A lovely coastal walk was followed by some body boarding - must buy boards - and lots of chat and a big dinner.
We finished the month with a trip to Dave and Kati's in Llanrhystud and a camping catch up with most of the Nottingham gang.
